Frederick Market Street Mile

Events

• Women's/ Non-Binary Mile: Individual timed event for women and non-binary (women and non-binary scored separately)
• Men's/ Non-Binary Mile:  Individual timed event for men and non-binary (men and non-binary scored separately)
• Youth Mile: Individual timed event for participants aged 13 and under
• Fun Mile: individual untimed, non-competitive event
• Family Mile: parents/guardians, along with their children, may participate in the untimed, non-competitive mile

 

Course

The course is point to point, beginning at the Frederick YMCA, 1000 N. Market St., heading south on Market Street through the heart of historic downtown Frederick to Carroll Creek Linear Park.  The Frederick Market Street Mile course is measured according to USATF standards and is certified by USATF (#MD15002LMJ).

Strollers are welcome in the Family/Fun Mile, however please note that the city does not allow dogs during Celebrate Frederick's In The Street event. 

 

Parking

Market Street will be closed between 12th street and All Saints street before 8:30am the morning of the race. There should be ample parking on North Market Street above 12th street, on 12th street, 13th street, Frederick avenue, 14th street, as well as Motter Avenue and 10th Street. NO PARKING is allowed along the course, again, between 12th street and All Saints street

 

Packet Pickup

• Thursday, September 11, 4-7:00 pm: at Charm City Run, 925 W 7th Street 
• Saturday, September 13,  8:00-9:45 am:  at Frederick YMCA, 1000 N. Market St

 

Late Registration

Online registration is open through race day.

Race Day registration is open through 9:45am. YOU MUST REGISTER on your own electronic device, NO CASH! (credit card allowed)

 

Race Schedule

• 9:00am: Women's/ Non-Binary Mile Run Start
• 9:15am: Youth Mile Run Start
• 9:30am: Men's/ Non-Binary Mile Run Start
• 9:45am: Family Mile/Fun Mile Start (untimed)
• Awards available at finish line approximately 10:00am

Order by August 12 to guarantee size selection.

We'll order a small number of extra shirts and limited quantities of race shirts may be available after August 12. 

 

Awards

The overall winner of each heat is based on gun time. All other awards are based on net time.

• Overall Champion (Men's Mile, Women's Mile, Non-Binary, Youth Mile (Male and Female))
• 40+ Champion (Men's Mile, Women's Mile, Non-Binary)
• Age Group (Men's Mile, Women's Mile): top two in each age group ((19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+)​
• Age Group (Youth Mile): top two Male, Female in each age group (7 and under, 8-10, 11-13)​

Plus Finisher Medal to all children age 13 and under in Youth, Fun, and Family Mile.

No duplication between overall awards and age group awards.  

Awards will be available after 10 a.m. at the awards tent (South of finish line chute area).

 

Policies

No bib transfers and no refunds.  See the FSRC Bib Transfer Policy.

For your safety and the safety of those around you, headphones are discouraged.

Dogs, bicycles, and skates are not allowed, and runners in violation of this policy are subject to disqualification and removal from the course.

Strollers are permitted in the Family/Fun Mile only -- please start near the end of the heat and maintain a slow pace for everyone's safety.
